Lady Koalas Fall on the Road at Reinhardt

WALESKA, GA - The Columbia College women's basketball team fell 76-62 on the road at Reinhardt University on Saturday afternoon.

A low-scoring first quarter saw the Lady Eagles take a 13-9 lead over the Koalas. However, RU then posted 21 points in the second period to go up 34-19 at the break. CC then trailed 34-54 heading into the final quarter. Columbia then tried to make a comeback late in the period finishing the game on a 14-3 run to get to within 14 points but fell short as CC won the period 28-22.

The Koalas shot 29 percent overall and 29 percent from three making a season-high 13. However, CC only made seven two-pointers leading to their defeat. Sophomore guard Tysonia Lowe led Columbia with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals as she was the only one in double-digit scoring.

Fellow guard Layla Wall finished with 8 points, 4 rebounds and a team-best five assists while junior wing Makayla Street had 9 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, with 3 assists and two steals. Junior forward De'Asia Feaster also finished with 8 points and two boards while sophomore guard Kindan Dawson added nine points on three 3-pointers.

Columbia falls to 15-6 overall and 8-6 in the conference while Reinhardt improved to 15-5 overall and 11-3 in the AAC. The Koalas will next continue their road trip with a battle in Kentucky against Union College on Wednesday evening.
