COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia College men's soccer team rallied to knock off NAIA foe Middle Georgia State University 2-1 on Wednesday in their home opener. The win was also the first career coaching victory for interim head coach Logan Koon.
The Koalas remain unbeaten improving to 1-0-1 with the big win.
Columbia tallied the match's final two goals, with senior midfielder Dan Stryffeler's late first half penalty conversion in the 37th minute, and a 75th minute game-winner from sophomore forward Aedan Bowers on an assist from senior defender Jakeem Amuda.
MGA got on the board first scoring in the 13th minute of action. However, sophomore goalkeeper Brayden Garcia went on to make 3 saves on 4 shots on goal and shut out the Knights for the final 77 minutes to grab the victory. CC won the shot count 10-9.
