Bio

Dr. Richard Williams, entering his first year as Head Athletic Trainer, is a highly accomplished chiropractor with over a decade of experience in the field. He has owned and operated his own practice for the past 10 years, providing top-tier care to his patients.

In addition to his work as a chiropractor, Dr. Williams has also been very involved in the local community. In 2014, he became the first team chiropractor for Lenoir Rhyne University, and since 2015, he has volunteered at the Hickory Hawks, an independent, high school aged, Christian football team, as the team physician, athletic trainer, offensive coordinator, and OL/DL coach. Dr. Williams was also appointed and served on the Alexander County Health Board since 2018, and founded and was president of the Bethlehem Business Association since 2016.

He completed advanced training in 2014 and became a Certified Chiropractic Extremities Practitioner, a distinction held by only approximately 1500 practitioners worldwide. Dr. Williams received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri in 2013. While in chiropractic school, he freelanced as an athletic trainer with a women’s semi-pro football team, and various high school sporting events.

Dr. Williams became a certified Athletic Trainer in 2009 and graduated from Wingate University in 2008 with a BS in Athletic Training. He was named Athletic Training Student of the year in 2008, and interned with the Charlotte Checkers hockey team during the 2007-08 season. Dr. Williams is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Chiropractic Association, National Athletic Training Association, and Council of Extremity Adjusting.
