Columbia College Men’s Golf Finish 5th in CIU Invitational

The Columbia College Men's Golf Team competed in their first-ever team event at The Columbia International University Invitational, Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 21-22 at Columbia Country Club.  Despite only having four players (in a play 5, count four, 36-hole format), the Koalas finished 5th in the 11-team field that consisted of 58 total competitors.

Dillon Hite led the way for the Koalas firing a two-day score of 157, posting a 76 on Tuesday, which placed him tied for ninth in the field of 58.

Evan Todd finished tied for 20th with a two-day total of 161, while Brandon Griffin tied for 35th and Blake Vaughn finished in 39th place.

The Koalas improved the team score by 14 shots in Round 2.

"Brandon, Evan, Dillon, and Blake have been working so hard since the beginning of the year," said head coach Tom Mason. "It was great to see these four players display the desire to get better. I am looking forward to seeing more improvement this spring."

The Koalas will be back in action in Mid-March (Mar. 21-22) at The Sandhills Championship in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
