Koalas Finish 6th at Sandhills Spring Invite
The Columbia College men's golf team finished 6th at the 2022 Sandhills Flyers Golf Pride Spring Invitational held Monday-Tuesday, Mar. 21-22. The Tournament was hosted by Longleaf Golf and Family Club in Southern Pines, NC. The event featured a field of 11 strong teams.
In round one, Dillon Hite paved the way for the Koalas, as the team turned in the lowest team score of the spring. Hite posted a score of five over par, 77. Evan Todd continued his solid play firing a 78, Brandon Griffin posted a 79, and Blake Vaughn rounded out the team with a score of 88.
The Koalas were hoping to improve their team score on day two, but some challenging pin positions and a few shaky shots, prevented the team from bettering their day one score of 322.
Hite continued his solid play and led the Koalas with a second-round score of one over par, 73 as the team posted a score of 323.
Hite finished the tournament tied for 12th, and Evan Todd finished tied for 25th.
Brandon Griffin and Blake Vaughn placed 27th and 38th respectively.
The Koalas are right back on the greens next week, Monday-Tuesday, Mar. 28-29 at the USC Beaufort 2022 Monument Golf Oldfield Classic.
