Vaughn leads Men's Golf at Tennessee Shootout

JOHNSON CITY, TN - The Columbia College men's golf team competed at the Northeast Tennessee Spring Shootout on Tuesday playing two rounds and 36 holes in the same day from the Johnson City CC hosted by Milligan College.

Milligan won the tournament with a 22 over 598 followed by Walters State, Emory & Henry and NCAA Div. II UVA Wise. Bluefield was 5th followed by Mars Hill, Milligan "B", Columbia, and Pellissippi State. Columbia shot rounds of 330 and 331 for an 85 over 661.

Junior Blake Vaughn led the Koalas placing in a tie for 9th overall at 10 over 154. He shot rounds of 2 over 74 and 8 over 80 in round two. He totaled 3 birdies inthe tournament.

Freshman Ryan Lord then finished in a tie for 33rd at 23-over 167 as he recorded rounds of 85 and 82. Senior Jacob Fink then followed placing 35th at 24-over 168 with rounds of 82 and 86. Finally, senior Brandon Griffin completed the scoring placing 39th at 28-over 172 with rounds of 89 and 83 while recording two birdies.

The Koala golfers will next take to the links on April 22-23 at the 3-round AAC Direct Qualifier from the Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, GA.
