Gnamien Scores Game Winner to Secure Inaugural Home Win

Columbia, SC (09-11) – Koye' Gnamien knocked in an unassisted goal in the 82nd minute to lift Columbia College (SC) men's soccer over Kentucky Christian University (KCU) 2-1, in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest in Younts Stadium Saturday. The victory was the Inaugural home win for the Koala men's soccer team.

Gnamien, who scored his second goal of the season, pushed the ball past the goalie off a free-kick at the 82:14 mark. The goal came just 4:10 after Caidyn Chiasson knocked the ball into an open net the 78th minute off an assist by Zachery Gomez to even the score at 1-1.

The contest did not have much offense, as the teams had just 32 combined shots over the 90 minutes. The Koala's defense was solid throughout the game, allowing just eight shots on goal.

Columbia College opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes of the opening half, as Micah Hill scored his first goal of the season off a rebound at the 8:28 mark of the opening half. The goal was also the first-ever men's soccer goal scored at Younts Stadium.
