Montreat, NC (Sept. 22) – The Columbia College (SC) men's soccer team saw its two-game win streak come to an end as they fell to the Montreat College Cavaliers 10-2 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest Wednesday.

The loss drops the Koalas to 2-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the AAC. The Cavaliers improve to 4-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the AAC.

The contest was as lopsided as the score indicates as Montreat outshot Columbia College 47-6 (26-2 shots on goal).  Breon Riley was the only Koala player to record more than one shot with two. Riley and Oby Vega scored the two goals for Columbia College.

Oliver Nuno-Rodriguez had 10 shots, and Hugo Rodriguez scored two goals to lead Montreat in the contest.

Samuel Bush, who was making his first start, was the losing goalie, allowing six of the 10 goals with eight saves in 45 minutes.  Jesus Ramos was the winning goalie, playing a complete game.

The Koalas will have to regroup quickly, as they have just two days off before hosting Bryan College in a 1 p.m. AAC contest on Saturday (Sept. 25) in Younts Stadium.
