Koala Men's Soccer Drop AAC Contest to Montreat

Columbia, SC – Despite a strong second-half effort, the Columbia College men's soccer team fell to Montreat College, 5-2, in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game Wednesday night.

Montreat (3-4-0, 2-2-0) and Columbia College (0-4-1, 0-3-0) were tied 1-1 after the first 15 minutes of action.  The Cavaliers then took control of the game, scoring back-to-back goals to take a 3-1 advantage with 12 minutes remaining.  The Koalas' defense was solid for the remainder of the half.

Columbia College's first goal was scored by Austin Clark off the assist by McCathern at the 29:17 mark of the game.

Ricardo Araujo and Ricardo Madan had two goals each to lead Montreat.

The Koalas will be back in action this Saturday, Sept 24, when they travel to Dayton, Tenn., to face Bryan in an AAC contest.
