Rice and McDonald Qualify for 2022 AAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Daylon McDonald and Gavin Rice met the marks in the discus to qualify for the upcoming 2022 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The duo was among several Columbia College men's track and field members who were individual competitors at the Montreat College Invitational last Friday-Saturday, March 25-26.

McDonald threw 33.72, which is more than a meter further than his previous throw of 32.58, while Rice threw more than four meters more than his prior distance (28.05) with a 32.80.

Overall, all the Koalas competitors finished in the 20 at the meet.

Richard Parker-Boatwright finished just outside shy of the Top-10 in the 110-meter hurdles, placing 11th.

The Koalas will return to the track Saturday, Apr. 2, when they travel to Central, SC, to participate in the Southern Wesleyan University Gotta Run Invitational.
