Double victory for Columbia over SAU

COLUMBIA, SC – Columbia Softball (6-8; 3-3 AAC) snapped up a double header conference win on Thursday afternoon against Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent, St. Andrews University (14-14; 2-6 AAC). Columbia took the first game 6-4 and the second game 7-2, coming from behind in both games to close solid wins.

Game 1:

Although Columbia initially lead the first game 2-0, the Knights rallied to post 4 runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take the lead 4-2. However, two back-to-back errors from St. Andrews allowed 4 Columbia runs in the sixth. Columbia held the Knights at 4 and took the game 6-4 in the top of the seventh.

Game 2:

St. Andrews took the lead early in the second game leading 2-0, but the Koalas refused to give up the game and brought home 3 in the third inning to take the lead. Columbia notched up an additional 4 runs, holding the Knights to 2.

Columbia plays next at home on Saturday, St. Patrick's Day, at 1pm and 3pm EST against conference opponent Bluefield.
