Koalas Split Double Header Against USC Sumter

  • Columbia College built a five-run lead in the first inning and then held off USC Sumter Fire Ants Varsity's charge for a 5-4 victory on Sunday. USC Sumter Fire Ants Varsity tallied three runs in the failed comeback. Maggie Hunter and Anna Crider picked up RBIs to lead the rally.
  • Columbia College earned the victory despite allowing USC Sumter Fire Ants Varsity to score three runs in the fourth inning. USC Sumter Fire Ants Varsity scored its runs on a single by Hunter. Columbia College got things started in the first inning. Madison Keefer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Jenna Heath was credited with the victory for Columbia College . The Koalas canceled their games tomorrow against Benedict but will pick up play again later this week at home against SC Salkehatchie, pending good weather.
