Brewton-Parker Takes Two

COLUMBIA, SC- After a 5-1 week, the Koalas returned to action on Tuesday afternoon, hosting Brewton-Parker (GA). The visiting Barons took both games behind stellar pitching and timely hitting.

The Koalas fall to 12-14 on the season following the sweep, while the Barons improve to 15-9.

THE GAMES:
Columbia took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first in game one, but it would ultimately turn out to be the only run allowed by the Barons in 14 innings.

Brewton-Parker knocked in three runs in the third inning of game one and held off the Koalas at every chance they had, emerging with the 3-1 win.

The Barons shut out the Koalas in game two behind a complete game effort from Kristi Peters. The speedy pitcher struck out three while allowing just four hits.

UP NEXT:
Columbia will return to action on Saturday, hitting the road and heading to Montreat for the first of a two-game road trip.
