Koalas Take Down The Tigers

The Koalas have strung together three wins out of the last 4 games. Their most recent victory came against conference rival, Brenau University Tigers. Last Saturday, the Koalas hosted the game against the Tigers and was able to pull off a ten point victory with a final score of 60-50. Although it was a low scoring, defensive game the Koalas were able to capitalize on the mistakes made by Brenau. With this win the Koalas improve their overall record to 4-10, which now has them sitting 12th in the conference. The team is currently 3 games behind the 8th place Bluefield College Rams which is the cut off for the post season tournament. 

Scoring came from a number of different athletes in this game. Almost all of the starters were in double figures for scoring. Freshman Ellona Moulds and senior Jenesai Mohammed led the team in scoring with 14 points each. Moulds added 4 steals, 2 assists, and 5 rebounds,while Mohammed had 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Denijah Johnson had a 13 point, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals outing. The other starters Hanna Kinard and Jaida Hawes contributed 6 point and 6 rebounds, and 9 points, 2 assists and 3 steals respectively.

In order to continue this run of victories the Koalas will have to face St. Andrews at home on Wednesday, starting at 5:30pm. And on Saturday will face #25 Reinhardt University which will also be a home game.
