Happy Holidays from your Koalas

Happy Holidays from your Koalas

With the semester coming to a close brings on winter break for the Columbia College students and staff. But there will still be plenty of action going on during the break.

The Koala Basketball team opened the break with an exciting game against conference opponent Tennesse Wesleyan. The Koalas led most of the game but would end the game with a 3 point defecit. Junior Denijah Johson had another stand out performance with 19 points and 8 rebounds, 5 blocks and 3 steals. Johnson wasn't the only big performer, Freshmen Mary Wembley came off the bench to give the Koalas a big spark of energy on the floor and was able to drop 7 points. Coming off of injury Morgan Varn looked like her old self scoring 14 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.

Although the team lost, the chemistry on the court seems to be coming together and will be put to the test as the Koalas travel on Monday Dec.16th to take on Div 1 opponent Charleston Southern. The game starts at 7pm and will be availble for viewing online.

The rest of the schedule for winter break is as follows:January 2nd at Kentucky Christian, January 4th home vs. Milligan. January 7th, away at Point University, January 9th away at Tenn. Wesleyan, and January 11th, home vs. Brenau University.

Until next year, the Koala family wants to wish everyone a happy holiday and safe travels.
