Koalas Defeat Cavaliers in Final Home Game

The Columbia College women's basketball team closed out its home season on a winning note, defeating Montreat by five, 76-71, Monday, Feb. 14.

The win pushes the Koalas record to 4-19 overall and 4-18 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).  The loss drops the Cavaliers to 11-17 overall and 8-14 in the AAC

The contest was tied 32-all at the half with the game going back-and-forth until mid-way in the fourth quarter, when the Koalas used a 9-0 to go up by nine, 58-47.  Columbia College went up by as many14, 62-48, late in the final quarter.

Koala Game Highlights:

Columbia College had four players to finish in double-figures led by Carnasia Webb with a game-high 21.  Dynasia Jackson came off the bench to drop in 14 and Payton Brookover and Wynter Webb scored 13 and 10, respectively.

Brookover pulled in a game-high nine rebounds and Jordan Morgan pulled in seven.

Hali Doctor had a well-balanced game with nine points and seven rebounds.

Cavalier Game Trends:

Caleigh Raby led Montreat in scoring with 15 points.  Adrianna Gullette came off the bench to scored 12 while Destiny Lewis and Tatiyana Cannon added 11 points, respectively.

Additional Notes:

Columbia College outscored Montreat 38-34 in the paint with 15 second-chance points and 18 points off the Cavaliers turnovers.
