Koalas Drop Close Contest to Kentucky Christian

Columbia, SC – The Columbia College women's basketball team dropped a close game to Kentucky Christian, falling by three, 64-61, in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) action Saturday (Nov. 12).

The loss drops the Koalas to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in the AAC. The Knights improve to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

Koala Game Highlights:

The Koalas finished the game with three players in double-figures. 

Shakyra Harley, Carnasia Wells, and Renasia Jeter-McKiss finished with 10 points each. Jeter-McKiss also pulled in six rebounds.

Jazolyn Pendergrass finished the game with eight points and a game-high six assists.

Kateria Brabham pulled in a game-high eight rebounds for the Koalas.

Knights Game Notes:

Abby West and Regan Adkins finished with a game-high 13 points. 

Kylie Gilliam came off the bench to drop in 11, while Jada Higgins added six points and six rebounds.

Additional Notes:

Columbia College outscored Johnson 30-26 in the paint and scored 15 points off the Knights16 turnovers. The Koalas bench outscored the Knights bench by one 21-20.

What's Next?

The Koalas will host Point University in an AAC contest next Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 pm in the Godbold Center on the campus of Columbia College.
