Koalas Outlast Tigers in Overtime

Columbia, SC – The Columbia College women's basketball team outlasted Brenau University, defeating the Tigers 67-64 in its first overtime contest of the season. The win pushes the Koalas' record to 3-6 overall and 3-5 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). With the loss, Brenau falls to 3-9 overall and 2-9 in the AAC. 

Columbia College finished the contest with three players in double-figures, led by Aa'Breah Keitt with 20. Jazolyn Pendergrass dropped in 17, and Carnasia Wells added 10 points in the contest.   

Keitt, who had a solid all-around game, led the team in rebounding with eight. Keitt also finished with four assists, four steals, and three blocks. Wells pulled in seven defensive rebounds and added with four assists. 

Shakyra Harley contributed six points and six rebounds, and Dynasia Jackson came off the bench to pull in six rebounds for the Koalas in the win. 

Tyleia Williams and Kayla Stafford led Brenau with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Stafford, who finished the game with a double-double, pulled in a game-high 18 rebounds. 

Columbia College will return to action this Thursday, Jan. 5, when they host Milligan University in a 5:30 pm AAC contest. 

For the Record: Columbia College outscored Breanu 30-24 in the paint and scored 18 points off 20 Tiger turnovers.
