COLUMBIA, SC- Koala Women's Basketball took on Tennessee Wesleyan for the second time this season on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs built a significant lead in the first half and swept the season series; TWU won the first meeting in their home gym, 75-70, on November 11.
THE BASICS:
TWU stands at 6-6 overall and 4-6 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. Meanwhile, the Koalas slip to 9-8 overall and 6-6 in AAC action.
THE FIRST HALF:
The Bulldogs carried a 34-22 lead into the locker room at the half, thanks to a 12-37 shooting effort, including knocking in five three-pointers.
The Koalas shot 9-32 in the first half and converted just one of 12 from behind the three-point line.
THE SECOND HALF:
TWU continued to lead the game until Columbia found a groove, thanks to cranking up the defensive pressure. The Koalas chipped the lead down to seven, but the Bulldogs settled down and pulled away from there thanks to an impressive 3-of-6 effort from three in the final frame.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Anaya Muhammad led the way with a team-high 15 points, while Kamya Hatten added 11. Tysonia Lowe just missed double-digits with nine points in 23 minutes of action.
