COLUMBIA, SC- Despite taking an early lead, Columbia saw Milligan run away with the first quarter en route to a 100-81 win for the visitors.
Much like their real-life counterparts, the Buffaloes got out and ran to take an early 33-15 lead after the first quarter. Despite only being outscored 20-17 in the second quarter, Columbia was never able to get back within striking distance of the third-place Buffs.
Milligan has now won four straight to earn an 18-6 overall record and a 15-3 mark in the AAC; they would be the third seed if the conference tournament started today.
Columbia slips to 10-14 overall with the loss and 7-12 in AAC action. They're currently on the bubble for the conference tournament with three AAC games left. They will host non-conference Johnson & Wales on Monday and then turn their attention to their final home game against Union.
Leah Page led the Koalas with a game-high 31 points, while Anaya Muhammad and Tysonia Lowe each recorded 15. The Buffs saw two players hit 25 points to lead their fast-paced offense, while four others reached double-digits.
The Koalas will look to bounce back on Monday when they host Johnson & Wales at 5:30 PM.
