Lindsey Hoile and Maddy Key finished first and second at the 2022 Sandhills Golf Pride Spring Invitational hosted by Longleaf Golf and Family Club, Monday-Tuesday, March 21-22. All competitors played as individuals, as there was no women's team competition in the tournament.

The Koalas' third player Mikaya Thomas finished sixth.

Key fired an opening round of 81 to the lead on the entire field. Hoile also played a solid opening round, finishing just six strokes behind Key.

Under perfect weather conditions on day two, Key and Hoile battled through the first eight holes. Hole nine proved to be a turning point when Hoile chipped in for birdie, and Maddy Key made a bogey. The two-shot swing gave Hoile a little momentum going into the final nine holes. Both players continued to fight hard, but in the end, Hoile edged out Key by two strokes to claim the overall individual title.

The Koalas have a few weeks off before returning to the greens on April 11 and 12 at The Mountain Empire Intercollegiate hosted by Milligan University.
