COLUMBIA, SC – Columbia College Lacrosse Team was named fifth out of eleven in the Appalachian Athletic Conference on January 29, 2018 in the first NAIA Coaches' Top 10 Poll of the 2018 season. Defending national champion, SCAD Savannah (Ga.) was ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, claiming all eight of the first-place votes.
Columbia finished the 2016-17 season ranked 8th in the NAIA, with a season record of 10 - 7 and 6 - 2 in conference. Columbia took their first conference win on Saturday, January 27 against Truett-McConnell University. The 21-2 victory opened the season for the Koalas and began conference play.
Columbia plays again Tuesday, February 6th against AAC opponent St. Andrews.
