Koalas Place Six on All-Academic Team, Kelly named Champion of Character

The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced its end of season awards on Monday, November 5th, with the Koalas of Columbia College placing a number of players on the AAC All-Academic Team as well as a member on the Champions of Character Team.

90 student-athletes in total were honored for their outstanding work in the classroom, including six of the twelve eligible players from the Koalas.

The individuals honored were Sophomore Aleah Colbert, Junior Charlotte Daniels, Senior Sarah DiPiazza, Senior Jaena Dominguez, Senior Ruby Hallam, and Sophomore Megan Probert.

Senior Mallorie Kelly received the Champions of Character Award. This award recognizes individual NAIA student-athletes that best display exemplary character and sportsmanship on the field, on campus, and in the community. The five core values of the program are as follows: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.

In addition, Senior Ruby Hallam was recognized for being a two-time offensive player of the week, as well as being named to the AAC First Team.
