Koala Soccer Signs Josie Vega for 2020 Season

Columbia College Soccer Head Coach Robert Hunter is excited to announce Josie Vega as the first signing of the 2020 Koalas Soccer recruiting class.

Josie comes to CC from nearby Irmo High School in Irmo, SC, where she has been a member of the varsity team since her 9th grade year.  She has been a starter since 10th grade, and a captain since her junior year, and has been honored as defender of the year for Irmo and as an All-Region Player in 2019.

In club, Josie has been a member of SCUFC  since 9th grade and has been a captain every year, while winning multiple leadership and MVP awards. She has lived in Columbia all of her life and won't be going far from home to continue her playing career collegiately.

Coach Hunter said about Josie, "Josie comes very highly recommended from a former CC coach and we are excited to see how she can add to our current group.  She is athletic, reads the game well and isn't afraid to get into tackles, and we certainly believe Josie has a lot of leadership qualities she will bring to the squad. We are looking forward to having her join us in the fall and can't wait to watch her grow as an individual."

Keep an eye out for further announcements in the near future as the soccer program announces additional signees for the 2020 class.
