Koala Women’s Soccer Host Union for Senior Day

Columbia, SC (Oct. 22) – The Columbia College women's soccer team will host Union Saturday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. in Younts Stadium.  It will be senior day for the Koalas.  Three members of the 2021 team and three members from the 2020 team will be honored during a ceremony at half-time.

Columbia College (9-5, 7-4 AAC) snapped a three-game losing streak Wednesday (Oct. 20), defeating Warren Wilson College 8-1.  Freshman Jordan Myers, who returned to action after missing two games due to injury, scored a game-high five goals with one assist for 11 points in the game.  For the game, the Koalas outshot Warren Wilson 28-8.  The Koala's defense was equally as strong, allowing just four shots-on-goal for the game.

Overall, Myers has 15 goals, four assists, and 34 points to lead Columbia College.  Isabell Gurrieri has six goals, and Kianna Dodge has five goals for the Koalas.  Theresa Chambers, Tianna Roberts, and Brianna Sandoval all have two goals each.  Madison Stewart leads the team in assists with eight and has two goals on the season.

Union enters the game with a 1-8-1 overall record and 1-4-1 in the AAC.  In their last outing, the Bulldogs fell to Montreat, 2-0. 

Columbia College will travel to Point on Wednesday, Oct. 27, before returning home to close out the regular season against Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 30.
