Koalas unable to tame Bears

A 3-0 defeat to the Truett-McConnell Bears on the road closed out the hardest back to back games of the Koalas season to drop their overall record to 4-4-2 on Wednesday evening in Cleveland, GA.

Coming off a game against top 25 ranked Reinhardt on Saturday, the Koalas faced their second ranked opponent in 5 days when they traveled to take on the #19 Bears.

After tremendous defensive work in the opening period, Columbia fell behind about half way through the half on a quality header off a cross and that scoreline stood until halftime as the Bears went into the break 1-0 ahead.

Two goals within a minute rounded on the scoring in the second half as TMU edged ahead 3-0 shortly after the break, but stout defensive work from the entire team kept the score at 3-0 against a talented attacking unit from the Bears.

Especially standout in their performances for the Koalas were Brooke Piscitello and Amorie Kostelak, who played 76 minutes in goal before Breanna Hilton closed out the match for the final fourteen.

Things don't get much easier for Columbia as they hit the road again on Saturday to travel to Elizabethton, TN to take on the Milligan College Buffaloes in another AAC matchup at 4PM.
