Four Koalas Claim All-American Status at Outdoor Championship

Marion, Ind.- Columbia College Women's Track and Field sent four athletes to Indiana Wesleyan to compete in the NAIA Outdoor T&F National Championship. All four athletes will return to campus as All-Americans in the 5,000m Race Walk event.

Izabelle Trefts, the 2023 NAIA Indoor 3,000m Race Walk National Champion, began the week ranked second nationally; and ultimately claimed that spot in the event with a time of 24:40.04.

Olivia Lundman from the University of British Columbia took home the title at 23:24.98. Two other members of her team took third and fourth while the Koalas rounded out the top seven. Victoria Heiser-Whatley finished in fifth place with a time of 27:17.14. Ainhoa Colino took sixth at 27:40.82, and Jessica Heiser-Whatley was right behind with a time of 27:40.97.

All four athletes earn All-American status with their finish, making them 2023 indoor and outdoor All-American Race Walkers.
