V. Whatley Named as U.S. Reserve for World Team Championships

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Senior Victoria Whatley has been named as the U.S. team reserve for the World Team Championships of race walking that will take place in Antalya, Turkey on April 21.
 
Victoria is an 8-time All-American representing Columbia College in both indoor and outdoor track and field. After graduating last year, she continued at Columbia in the Masters program studying Organizational Leadership. In January, Whatley and her twin sister Jessica competed in the Olympic trials for the Paris 2024 games.
 
 
The Whatley sisters have also qualified to compete at the NAIA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships in May along with fellow Koalas Mina Shull, Dorde Racic and Mackenzie Pringle.
 
The below photo is Tori racing in the 5000m race walk at the Caminata Invite on March 10 at Columbia International. Victoria placed second overall in an "NAIA A" time of 26:02 while her sister Jessica Whatley finished 4th overall in another NAIA A, B and AAC time of 26:22. Shull came in 7th overall in 30:04 while Carley Fuel was 10th in 34:36. Jenyfer Vigueras also competed and was 11th in 41:09.
 
On the men's side, junior Dorde Racic finished 6th overall out of 9 in 28:11 for an AAC qualifying time.
