Koalas Win Big at Morris

Koalas Win Big at Morris

In what has been a disappointing season, the Koalas and Coach Stevenson were encouraged to end this year on a high note. The path to that ending began last night as the the ladies traveled to Morris College to begin the last week of competition. In a dominate performance the Koalas held the Hornets to just 10 points in the last set, which led to a 3 sets to 0 victory.

A number of athletes played well and displayed the skills that we all were expecting to see all season long. Brianna King led the Koalas with 14 kills which were assisted mainly by Becca Lorimer who was 14 of 16 in assist attempts. Cassidy Jacobs also had a big role as setter and went 13 for 13 for assists along with recording 3 service aces. Freshman Allison Friend had the next highest number of kills with 6 but did not have any hitting errors. Leading the defensive efforts was Shalyn Goodloe who had 17 digs and 22 service receptions.

With only two games left in the season the Koalas hope to carry this performance over into Thursday when the travel to face North Greenvile, and Friday when Reinhardt rolls into town for the last home game of the year.
