Koala Volleyball Falls to Point on the Road

West Point, Ga. (Sept. 25) – The Columbia College (SC) volleyball team battled late but came up short, falling to Point University, 3-0, in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) road contest Saturday.

The loss drops the Koalas to 1-9 overall and 0-7 in the ACC.  Point improves to 6-8 overall and 3-3 in the AAC.

Columbia College finished the match with 25 kills, 24 assists, and six total blocks. Jordan Coates, Brianna King, and Zoe Jackson led the team in kills with six each.

Becca Lorimer put up double-digit assists.  Coates had nine assists, and Ta'Cori Barber picked up 15 digs to lead the team defensively.

Te'a Owens, who finished the match with 11 kills and nine digs, led Point.

After falling 25-12 in set one, Columbia College picked up its offense. 

In dropping set two 25-19, the Koalas put up 11 kills with a hitting percentage of .206.

Columbia College took Point to extra points in set three before falling, 26-24. The Koalas had nine kills during the set.

Columbia College will remain on the road when they travel to Cleveland, Ga. Tuesday (Sept. 28), to take on Truett McConnell.
