Koalas Defeat Paine on the Road

Augusta, Ga. – The Columbia College (SC) women's volleyball team defeated Paine College 3-1 on the road to pick up its second straight win.  The win was the second of the season over the Lions.  Columbia College defeated Paine by the same margin one week ago (Oct. 21).

For the second straight game Columbia College (4-20) was clicking on all cylinders.

The Koalas had two players to record double-digit kills as Destiny Brown had a career-high 11 and Nya Grey put down 10 in the contest.  Brianna King and Zoe Jackson contributed eight kills each, while Becca Lorimer and Jordan Coates, who shared the setting duties, put up 19 and 16 set assists, respectively.

The Koalas defense was equally solid, holding Paine (3-17) to just a .132 hitting percentage.  At the net, Grey recorded three block assists, and Brown had two total blocks.  Jada Gentry and Ta'Cori picked up 15 digs each in the win.

Paine was led in the contest by Jada Wilks with 14 kills and 11 digs.  Shatia Mccaskell also recorded a double-double for the lions with 11 kills and 12 digs. The Lions had four players record double-digit digs as Tierra Smith picked up a game-high 16 and Jordan Forston had 15 in the loss.

Columbia College will close out the regular season Saturday, Oct. 30, when they host Bluefield University at 11 am and Kentucky Christian at 5 pm.
