Koala Volleyball Drop Back-to-Back Conference Matches

Columbia, SC – The Columbia College volleyball team dropped back-to-back Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matches, falling 3-0 to Montreat on Monday (Oct. 17) and 3-0 to #25 CIU Tuesday (Oct. 18).

The Koalas will face CIU on the road Friday (Oct. 20) before closing out their 2022 home season Saturday (Oct. 22) when they host Brenau in an AAC contest.

Columbia College played a competitive match against Montreat on Monday.  After falling behind 2-0 (25-15 and 25-13), the Koalas took the Cavaliers to extra points in set three, 26-24, before falling in the match.

Zoe Jackson had a solid performance in leading the Koalas, finishing with eight kills, four digs, and five blocks.  Nya Grey contributed seven kills and four block assists in the match.

Leticia Assen and Savanna Logan shared the setting duties, putting up 14 and 13 assists, respectively.

CIU proved too much for Columbia College in Tuesday's match, as the Rams held the Koalas under 15 points in two-of-three sets.  The second set was the most competitive with Columbia College scoring 16 points.

Brhia Cummings had four kills, and Kristin Wemes picked up 15 digs for the Koalas in the match.

Columbia College will close out its season with three straight road games beginning October 25 at Truett McConnell.  The Koalas will then travel to Kentucky Christian (Oct. 28) and play its final game of the season at Bluefield (Oct. 29).
