Koala Women Finish 4th at AAC Cross-Country Championships

Canton, Ga. – The Columbia College (SC) women's cross-country team tallied 141 points to finish fourth at the 2021 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Cross-Country Championships Saturday (Nov. 6).  

Reinhardt University hosted the Championships at Boling Park in Canton, Ga.

Makayla Hollifield led the Koala contingency, clocking a 19:35.7 to finish in 17th. Hollifield qualified for the 2021 NAIA Nationals scheduled for Nov. 19 in Vancouver, Wash. Hollifield is one of six wildcard runners from the AAC who will be competing at the NAIA Nationals.

Gabrielle Huggins ran a 20:30.1, Izabelle Trefts finished in 20:30.2, Esther Ekundayo clocked a 20:52.4, and Valeria Bogdanova finished in 20:52.8 to round out the top five for Columbia College.

Additional competitors for the Koalas included: Elana Preston (21:57.1), Ayanah Howard (23:31.7), Kayleigh Lodge (23:33.5), Shelby Winn (23:36.4), Akiah McMillian (25:22.7), Jessica Heiser-Whatley (26:23.4), Ariana Pratt (26:23.6), and Victory Heiser-Whatley (26:30.0).
