Koala Women Finish 4th at 2022 AAC Cross-Country Championships

Columbia, S.C. – For the second straight season, the Columbia College women's cross-country team finished fourth at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Cross-Country Championships Friday (Nov. 4).

The Koalas tallied 131 points to finish behind Milligan, Montreat, and Truett McConnell.

Makayla Hollifield, who paced the Koalas all season, clocked a 19:07.7 to finish 13th.  Hollifield, who earned 2nd Team-All Conference honors, qualified for the 2022 NAIA Nationals scheduled for Nov. 18 in Tallahassee, Fla. She becomes the first player in the program's history to qualify for the NAIA National Cross-Country Championships three times.

Angeline Kravitz, who earned All-Freshman Team honors, was the second Koala to cross the finish line, clocking a 19:41.6, and Esther Ekundayo clocked a 20:23.1 to round out the top three Koalas.

Izabelle Trefts (20.53.3) and Ainhoa Colino (21:20.3) rounded out the top five for Columbia College.

Additional competitors for the Koalas included: Mina Shull (21:21.3), Gabrielle Huggins (21:25.1), Elana Preston (21:49.1), Kayleigh Lodge (23:25.7), Jennyfer Vigueras (22:39.5), Ariana Pratt (23:30.1), Jessica Heiser-Whatley (28:.04.2), and Victory Heiser-Whatley (28:14.4).
