Koala Cross-Country Teams Host The Akiah McMillan XC Invitational Saturday

Columbia, SC – The Columbia College men's and women's cross-country teams will host The Akiah McMillan XC Invitational Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Par Tee Golf Center in West Columbia, SC.

The 6K women's race is 8:15 am, followed by the 8K men's race at approximately 9 am.

The Akiah McMillan XC Invite is named in honor of former women's cross-country/track and field athlete Akiah McMillan. The meet will take on its new name after four years. Its previous name, the Koala XC Classic, was contested four years on the women's side and one on the men.

Before the women's race, there will be 21-seconds of silence to honor the life and memory of Akiah McMillan.

A total of 17 schools and more the 250 athletes are scheduled to compete in the meet. In addition to host Columbia College (SC), teams from Allen, Belmont Abbey, Benedict, Catawba Valley, CIU, Coker, Erskine, Gaston College, Johnson & Wales, Lander, Northeastern Tech, Point, Spartanburg Methodist, USC-Aiken, USC-Beaufort, and UNC-Pembroke are scheduled to compete.
