Koalas Return Home to Host Bluefield

Columbia, SC (12-07-21): After a two-game road swing, the Columbia College (SC) women's basketball team returns home this Wednesday, Dec. 8, vs. Bluefield University. Tip-off for the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest is 5:30 p.m. in the Godbold Center (Porter Gym) on the Columbia College campus.

Columbia College (1-7, 1-6 AAC) will be looking to pick up just its second win of the season when they host the Rams.  The Koalas fell to Bryan 104-59 on Saturday.  Carnasia Wells and Wynter Webb scored 37 of Columbia College's 59 points, finishing with 19 and 18, respectively.  Hali Doctor led the team on the boards with six.

Bryan finished the game with four players in double-figures led by Samantha Russell with a game-high 23.  Gracee Dishman dropped in 20 points, while Karli Combs and Kailynn Hennessee scored 14 and 13, respectively.  Destiny Kassner pulled in a game-high 14 points in the contest.

Bluefield, who enters the game with a 3-7 overall record and 3-5 in the conference, snapped a three-game losing streak Saturday, defeating Johnson University-Tennessee 70-58. Kylie Meadows finished the game with 22 points and five rebounds.  Destiny Long scored 13 points and, Jadyn Hoover also had five rebounds in the win.

On the season, Wynter Webb leads the Koalas in scoring at 14.3 per outing, while Dynasia Jackson is pulling in 5.5 rebounds per game to lead the team.

Kylie Meadows is dropping in 22.1 points per game to pace the Rams.

Columbia College will close-out play in the 2021 calendar year this Saturday, Dec. 11 when they host Reinhardt in a 2 p.m. contest.
