Bio

Samone Thompson is in her second season as the assistant Jumps/Multis Coach for the Koalas men’s and women’s track programs. She will serve as the primary coach for the Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Heptathlon, and Decathlon)

Out of high school, Thompson ran track at the University of Illinois, where she studied Community Health. After three years, she transferred to Arkansas State University where she received her Bachelor’s and Master's in Sports Administration in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

Thompson was a five-time All-Sun Belt Conference multi-event performer at Arkansas State. In addition, she earned medals in the Pentathlon and Heptathlon as well as the 60-meters, 100-meters, and 400-meter Hurdles. Thompson was an Arkansas State school record holder for the Pentathlon, and she was a member of the record-setting 4x400 relay team. Thompson also produced Top-10 finishes in school history.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her pups Nylah & Koda.
