Tennis Programs Dominate at Mary Baldwin
STAUNTON, VA- Columbia College Women's Tennis opened their season in style, taking down Mary Baldwin, 7-0. The Men also picked up a win, 7-0, as they hit the courts for the second time this season.
WOMEN'S SINGLES:
Helena Jokanovic took care of business, representing Columbia College for the first time by winning her match 6-0, 6-0.
Mariane Lima and Kseniia Krupniakova picked up victories by going 6-0, 6-1, while Aniya Sims, Joye Tate, and Vienne Geren collected wins in their matches.
WOMEN'S DOUBLES:
The duo of Krupniakova and Jokanovic started their season with an 8-2 win, while Sims and Lima won 8-0. The combo of Tate and Geren also collected a win, 8-1.
MEN'S SINGLES:
Liam Barry, Tiaan Jacobs, and Owen Brumfield cruised to 6-0, 6-0 victories, while Michael Schiesz collected a 6-1, 6-0 win.
MEN'S DOUBLES:
The combination of Barry and Haller collected an 8-1 win, Jacobs and Waldo Bosch won their matchup in convincing fashion, 8-0, and the duo of Schiesz and Brumfield collected a win by forfeit.
UP NEXT:
Both programs will enjoy some time off to regroup before they compete at the Coker Invitational on October 6th-8th.
