KNOXVILLE, TN - The Columbia College men's basketball team fell on the road at Johnson University by a score of 100-71 Saturday afternoon in Tennessee.
Junior Guard AJ Vaught led the Koalas with 14 points and five assists while junior forward Chandler O'Bannon scored 12 points with 3 boards and 2 blocks. Senior guard Kendall Brasfield also added 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Sophomore guard Norman Haynes posted a season-high 9 points off the bench with fellow guard Tae Burton adding 7 points and 2 threes. Junior Wing Thomas Whitley also added 6 points while senior guards Mac Washington and Alvaro Mendez combined for 8 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
Johnson had a terrific shooting night scoring 54 points in the first half and 46 in the second as they shot 48 percent from the floor while making 14 threes at 41% clip. Columbia shot 42 percent but only made 5 threes on the night.
The Koalas drop to 13-12 overall and 6-11 in the conference while JU improves to 15-8 overall and 12-5 in the AAC.
Columbia next returns home to host rival CIU on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm.
