Men's Golf Finishes 6th at CIU Invite/ Vaughn makes All-Tourney Team

COLUMBIA, SC - The Koala Men's Golf team got their spring season underway last week by traveling to nearby rival CIU for the CIU Spring Invite held at Columbia Country Club.

The Koalas finished 6th overall shooting rounds of 333 and 330 to finish at 87-over par 663. The men just missed coming in 4th place in round one by 5 strokes and only finished 15 strokes  back overall from 4th place in the invite.

The highlight for the Koalas was junior Blake Vaughn as he made the All-Tournament Team with his 76 in round one and 77 in round two last Tuesday. Vaughn sat in 5th place after round one and finished in 6th place with a 9-over 153.

Also competing for the Koala men were senior Brandon Griffin who came away with a 33rd place finish shooting rounds of 85 and 83 for a 24-over 168 total. Freshman Ryan Lord then tied for 36th by shooting an 87 and 83 for a 126-over 70 while Jacob Fink scored rounds of 85 and 87 for a 172 to place 38th.
