Men's Golf Finishes 10th at Sandhills

PINEHURST, NC - The two-day Sandhills CC Flyer Invitational event at Longleaf Golf Club concluded on Tuesday with the Koala men's golf team finishing in 10th place out of 13 schools in the tournament.

D-3 Methodist won the invite followed by Sandhills, GA Military CC, and Paine College. Columbia shot rounds of +38 over 326 in round one where they sat in 7th place but struggled on a wet and windy day Tuesday to a +61 over 349.

Leading the Koalas was Blake Vaughn who shot rounds of 75 and 84 for a 15 over 159 as he tied for 24th place out of 63 golfers. Brandon Griffin then followed him as he ans freshman teamamte Ryan Lord tied for 36th at 22 over 166. Griffing fired runds of 84 and 82 while Lord hit rounds of 81 and 85. Finally, Jacob Fink completed the scoring placing 55th at 40 over 184 with rounds of 86 and 98.

The men are next in action this coming Monday and Tuesday when they head o USC-Beaufort for the Oldfield Invite at Okatie, SC.
