Men's Golf Places 9th at AAC Fall Tournament

ADAIRSVILLE, GA - The Columbia college men's golf team placed 9th out of 15 schools at the AAC Fall Showcase from Barnsley Resort in Georgia earlier this week.

CC shot a score of 980 over three rounds with a 47 over 335 in round one Monday morning, before improving by 20 strokes in round two Monday afternoon with a 27 over 315 before falling back with a 42 over 330 round three on Tuesday morning.

The Koalas finishedjust one stroke behind St. Andrews for 8th and only two behind #49 Milligan for 7th. CC was also just five shots off 6th place Bluefield (975) while #21 SCAD-Atlanta won the tournament with a score of 908 followed by Reinhardt and #30 Tenn. Wesleyan in the top three.

The Koalas were led by freshman Thomas Campbell as he finished in a tie for 21st place with a 21-over 237 after rounds of 87, 76 and 74. Campbell steadliy improved each round before tying for the top score in round three with his 2-over 74 that included three birdies.

Senior Blake Vaughn then placed second on the Koalas with a tie for 36th place with a 27 over 243 after shooting rounds of 80, 80, and 83. Sophomore Ryan Lord also placed 41st with a 29-over 245 with scores of 84, 76, and 85. Senior Jacob Fink  competed as an individual as well placing 54th with a 38-over 254 and rounds of 85, 78 and 91.

Freshman Zach Mock then came in 56th at 255 with rounds of 84, 83, and 88 while his brother Jaxon Mock finished 78th at 273 and rounds of 100, 84 and 89.

The men have now finished their fall schedule and will get back to the links in late February before the Spring AAC Championship in mid-April.
