COLUMBIA, SC-
Men's Soccer welcomed Truett-McConnell to Younts Stadium for more Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) action on Wednesday night; the Bears left town with a 3-0 victory.

THE BASICS:

Truett-McConnell now holds a 4-1-1 record overall and a 2-1-1 mark when playing inside the AAC. The loss drops the Koalas to .500 at 4-4 overall and 1-3 inside AAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Despite quality chances for both sides throughout the first 45 minutes of action, both goalkeepers posted a clean sheet heading into the break.

  • The Bears finally broke the deadlock early in the second half (49:15) when Will Fraser-Gray converted a penalty kick following a Koala foul in the box.

  • After 20 minutes of scoreless play, TMU struck fast, scoring twice only 19 seconds apart.

  • The first came when Oscar Brennan sent a corner kick in on a rope where Caleb Diaz was waiting to head it home.

  • Soon after, the Bears used tic-tac-toe passing to get the ball onto the foot of Ogi Vrkic, who snuck one home on the near side post.

  • Columbia saw its fair share of chances to get on the board, but TMU goalie Aleksa Lukic turned them away, posting a shutout with four saves.

UP NEXT:

The Koalas will stay home and try to snap their three-game losing skid on Saturday when they welcome Milligan to town for a 5 p.m. start.
