Senior Salute! Koalas Dominate Knights, 7-0

COLUMBIA, SC- They call Soccer 'Football' worldwide, but on Saturday, the Koalas would win by an American Football score, 7-0.

Columbia got its senior day started correctly, scoring early and often en route to a dominant Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) victory that saw four players tally a goal.

Alexis Salazar opened the floodgates first, tallying an excellent goal in the 32nd minute; 14 minutes later, he'd collect his second of the afternoon.

Jimmy Yancy also tallied two scores, with a Mitchell Clark unassisted goal sandwiched in between his scores. Aedan Bowers, who came off the bench late in the second half, also went on to net two of his own, including a nice header off a throw-in pass from Grayson Allen.

The Koalas outshot the Knights 34-5 and limited KCU to zero corner kicks while attempting 13. Brayden Garcia turned away both shots that the Knights tried to earn a clean sheet and the win in goal.

The Koalas will return to action on Wednesday when they welcome Bluefield to Younts Stadium for the AAC finale.
