Cleveland, Ga. - The Columbia College men's soccer team lost a close 2-1 game on the road against AAC foe Truett-McConnell University (Ga.) Wednesday evening.
TMU got on the board first striking in the early minutes of the second half after a scoreless opening period where the shot count stood at just 8-7 in favor of the Bears. The game would remain 1-0 for the next 30 minutes until the Koalas struck in the 81st minute of action as senior midfielder Dan Stryffeler scored his third goal of the season.
However, the Bears would not relent as they came right back two minutes later with the go-aherad goal off an assist in the 83rd minute to go back in front 2-1. Columbia would not be able to find the tying goal in the final minutes unfortunately.
Senior Goalkeeper Nathan Huff had a solid game making 7 saves on 9 shots on goal for the Koalas in his first start of the season in net. Sophomore Forward Aedan Bowers would lead CC with 2 shots in the game.
Columbia falls to 1-5-2 on the season and 0-4 in the AAC while TMU remains unbeaten improving to 5-0-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
The Koalas return to action on Saturday as they continue their road trip with a matchup against Milligan, the defending conference champs, on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
