BARBOURVILLE, KY - The Columbia College men's soccer team's second half rally fell short Saturday as they dropped a 2-1 decision on the road in Kentucky at AAC foe Union Commonwealth (Ky.).
Union got on the board first scoring in the 14th minute to go up 1-0 and take the lead and the edge in the shot count into the break. UC then added their second goal early in the second half scoring in the 47th minute as leading goal soccer Callum Edwards put the Bulldogs up 2-0.
The Koalas then trimmed UC's lead to one with a goal from Nikos Koutsourais in the 79th minute off assists from Angel Andreucetti and Gabriel Guadagno to get within 2-1. It was his first goal of the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Nathan Huff made 11 saves on 13 shots on goal while Koutsourais led with 3 total shots. After being outshot by a wide margin in the first half against the Bulldogs, CC stuck right with unbeaten Union Comm. getting 8 shots off and 12 for the game.
