ATHENS, TN - The Columbia College men's soccer team defeated conference rival Tennessee Wesleyan 1-0 on the road Sunday to complete their TN road trip 1-1.
Freshman midfielder Noah Poungthana scored the game's only goal in the 32nd minute while goalkeeper Jake Marks registered six saves in picking up the shutout win for the Koalas. It was Poungthana's first goal of the season and Mark's first win.
Columbia picked up the win even as they were outshot in the second half 9-3 and 13-7 overall. The Koalas improve to 3-8-2 overall and 2-7 in the conferene while TWU falls to 5-5-2 and 3-4-1 in the AAC.
Columbia next returns home to host St. Andrews on Wednesday at 7 pm.
