Men's Swimming Fall in both Meets with Point

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - The Columbia College men's swimming team opened up their season on Saturday comepting against Point University at neautrl site Brenau University.

Point went on to defeat the Koala men 415-295. The men's 200 medley relay team finished third in 2:03. 

Senior Will Evans went on to then win the 100 freestyle in 51.7 seconds while Jamal Johnson was 5th in 1:04. Nicholas Topar then finished 3rd in the 100 Butterfly in 1:00.1 while Evans then came in 4th place in the 100 Breast stroke in 1:07. Topar also finished 2nd in the 100 Back stroke in 1:08 while Johnson was 6th in the 50 free in 29.2 seconds.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The men went on to open their home season by hosting Point University the following weekend as well in the Spooky Invitational. Point went on to defeat the Koalas 425-80.

In the opening event of Columbia's home meet, the 200 mixed medley relay, the Koala A relay team finished in 2nd place just a second behind Point in 1:54 while CC's "B" team came in 4th in 2:17. In the 200 Free Mixed Relay, Columbia finished 2nd and 4th in 1:45 and 2:03.

Evans then placed 3rd in the 200 Free in 1:56 but went on to win the 100 Free in 50.7 seconds in the 6 person event. Topar also won the 200 Fly in 2:13 but finished 9th in the 100 IM in 1:07.
