
Men's Tennis Suffers 4-3 Defeat at Truett McConnell
CLEVELAND, GA - Despite a valiant effort on the road against Truett McConnell (5-5, 3-2 AAC), the Columbia College men's tennis team lost a close match on Tuesday, 4-3.

In doubles, the Koalas emerged victorious, winning in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots to secure the point. The #1 team of Waldo Bosch and Gabriel Kian dominated with a 6-0 sweep, while Jonah Haller and Liam Barry defeated their foes 6-2. Columbia had the lead going into singles play, but TMU prevailed in a tiebreaker in the final doubles match 7-6 to defeat Tiaan Jacobs and Brumfield.
At the top of the singles matches, Bosch and Barry both won convincing straight-set matches. Bosch easily won 6-0, 6-1, while Barry won 6-1, 6-2 to put CC up 3-0.
However, the momentum then shifted in TMU's favor, though, as injuries proved expensive for the Koalas. Haller had to retire in the first set, while Jacobs had to retire in the third after splitting the first two sets 6-4, 4-6. The Bears won 6-3, 6-2 at #6 singles over Kian and then won the match when their #5 player defeated Owen Brumfield in a tense three-set victory, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
The Koala men fall to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in the conference and will be back at home on Friday, where they will be up against Johnson Univ. (TN) at 2pm.

Atlanta, GA- In their match versus SCAD Atlanta (5-5, 4-0 AAC) on Saturday on the road, the Koalas were defeated 7-0. SCAD seized the momentum early in doubles and won all three matches.
Jonah Haller of Columbia fought hard at #3 singles, forcing the second set to 7-5, but Valentino Capararo of SCAD held his own to win, 6-3. Bosch fell at the 2 spot 1-6, 3-6 while Barry fell at the 4 spot 3-6, 1-6. Kian then lost 2-6, 1-6 at #5 while Brumfield went down 3-6, 1-6 at #6.
