Mutiple Indoor Track and Field School Records Fall During Bast-Cregger Invitational
SALEM, VA- They say records are meant to be broken, and that's exactly what happened Dec. 8-9 when the Columbia College Indoor Track and Field teams hit the road for the Bast-Cregger Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College.
Seven school records fell during the meet, four from the men's team and two from the women's side.
New Men's Indoor Records:
- Kimarje White (Freshman, Summerville, SC / Cane Bay High School) 300m Indoor: 36.99
- Tyler Dixon (Freshman, Chesterfield, SC / Chesterfield High School) Triple Jump: 12.22m
- Damaion Polite (Sophomore, Bluffton, SC / May River High School) 600m: 1:26.56
- Xzavier Lacefield (Freshman, Beaufort, SC / Beaufort High School) 3,000m: 9:32.30
- Geonathan Tobias (Sophomore, Tucson, AZ / Cienega High School) Shot Put: 13.57m
Along with breaking records, over 20 Koalas qualified for the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Championship meet with their performance over the weekend.
Men's Qualifiers:
- 60m: Bradley Tilby (FR) (7.04), Jaden Watt-Martin (JR) (7.14), and Willy Calcano (FR) (7.23).
- 200m: Bradley Tilby (FR) (22.56 sec), Jaden Watt-Martin (JR) (22.57), Willy Calcano (FR) (22.57), Kendell Stroman (FR) (23.04), and Christian Harris (FR) (23.61).
- 400m: Xavier Linen (JR) (52.81) and Caleb Bailey (SO) (52.89).
- 600m: Damaion Polite. (SO) (1:26.56)
- 800m: Damaion Polite (SO) (2:05.67)
- 60m Hurdles: Deshawn Mungo (FR) (8.79), Marcus Marston (FR) (9.43), Kimarje White (FR0 (9.54), Demerrial Rivers (FR) (9.55), and Xavier Linen (JR) (9.64)
- Shot Put: Geonathan Tobias (SO) (13.57m), Gavin Rice (JR) (12.13m), and Daylon McDonald (JR) (11.54m)
- Weight Throw: Gavin Rice (JR) (12.43m), Daylon McDonald (JR) (12.41m), and Geonathan Tobias (SO) (11.83m)
